Elk County Act 13 Program
The Elk County Commissioners have established a REIMBURSABLE grant program through the Act 13 Marcellus Shale Impact Fee for project activities within Elk County. Applicants that are eligible include municipal governing bodies, 501© (3) non-profit organizations and municipal authorities. This grant is an open application which is due by March 1st and September 1st each year. In the event that the deadline falls on a weekend, the previous Friday will be the due date. Grant requests must be a minimum of $1,000 up to the maximum amount of $10,000.
Grant award recipients will receive notification by letter that will include a cooperation agreement with the Count of Elk starting their understanding of the Elk County Act 13 Program Guidelines. In order to be reimbursed, all grant recipients will be expected to submit a grant close-out report that will include copies of invoices that were used in accordance with the grant requirements, copies of cancelled checks used to pay invoices and photographs where applicable in order to receive their grant reimbursement. Searching Elk County Deeds
Of course, you are welcome to search in our office using our public terminals, but you can also search from the comfort of your home or office. Currently deeds from 1864 to the present are searchable online. The deeds prior to 1864 will need to be searched in our office at this time.
You can access the deeds at http://countyofelkpa.com/index.php/register-recorder-homepage; then click on Register & Recorder Online Deed Search. If you log in as a guest, some information will be blacked out (redacted). If you setup an online account with a credit card, you will be able to save a copy or print the document and it will not be redacted. Prices are the same as in our office, 50 cents per page. Are you getting married?
1. There is a 3 day waiting period from the time you apply for your marriage license until the license can be issued/used.
2. Once the license is issued, it is valid for 60 days and then it expires.
3. You can apply for your marriage license in any Pennsylvania County; it is valid state-wide.
4. Your Pennsylvania marriage license cannot be used in another state.
5. If you've been divorced, you will need a copy of your divorce decree in order to obtain a marriage license.
6. The fee in Elk County for a marriage license is $40 payable by cash or check.
